 Meet Natalie

Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach & Artist

Hi! I am so excited you are here, and commend you for taking the next right step forward in your recovery journey. As someone who is personally recovered - I can understand what you are going through right now. I also know what it's like to struggle finding that right support system to help you in all the many challenges an eating disorder can present. When you choose me as your coach, know that I am in this with you 100%. I want our time together to be a safe time for you to be real and explore what steps are next to help you get to your dream recovered life. I am here to listen, guide, and support you the absolute best I can towards who I know you are meant to be - your true, beautiful, wonderfully made, incredible human self.

You were made for more than what your eating disorder has told you.

My Story

I spent the majority of my young life with an eating disorder .

Like so many other girls, I felt the visual and social pressures of needing to

be perfect to fit in, be loved, and find purpose. But this was a lie.

When life became too hard to handle, I turned to dieting and exercising to try

and regulate overwhelming emotional pain and in hopes of finding connection, stability, and identity. Sadly, our culture often reinforces extreme diet-culture and eating disorder behavior as "normal" - leaving most of us spending so much time, money, and energy trying to fit in and feel better.

Overtime, this culmination of reinforced systems became my eating disorder:

OSFED, Atypical Anorexia. I thought I was in control of my body and my life, but this was far from reality. Yet, in spite of any physical or psychological symptoms, I also never seemed to be "sick enough" to get the help I desperately needed.

But I never gave up.

With time and a lot of consistent action, I was finally able to fully recover. I found the connection, love, and purpose I craved (that my eating disorder always promised) from my treatment support, my faith, my art, and from within my healthy self.

And that is why I became a coach, to support you in the ways in which you deserve, no matter what anyone has told you (and especially no matter what you tell yourself!) The bottom-line is this: if you want help and are desiring a life of freedom from your eating disorder and a life FULL of the the things you are truly passionate about, YOU ARE VALID.

I see you. I hear you. And I absolutely believe in you. Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder, or even just looking to break-up with diet-culture and negative body-image for good, let's talk.

My recovery is rooted in...

Sisu and Soul

Sisu
What is "sisu"? Sisu ("see-soo") in of itself, is a non-translatable word in the Finnish language. Although referred to in definitions such as "grit" or "unrelenting perseverance", sisu is a concept of embodied fortitude available to all peoples (not just Finns.) Throughout my recovery, what started as something passed down to me from my Finnish great grandmother and the inspirational stories of my immigrant family, became the burning light of my healing. Why? Sisu is constant. Yes, it is perseverance, often in difficult situations - but it is also the hope. Because I refused to let anything sabotage my hope, even on the worst days of my eating disorder, and with no odds for me, I truly believe is why I not only am recovered, but am able to pursue a life beyond. Sisu meets you in the most difficult of moments, and offers the transcendent opportunity to go farther than you ever thought possible.
Recovery teaches us how to live from within, something that at one point was likely fairly natural for us. Having an eating disorder overtime belittles and negotiates with our inner, healthy self - until we are fully living life externally-driven and fear-based. And this is not how you were meant to live forever, you were made with a bigger purpose. Re-learning what my soul's deepest values were, what my actual passions were, what my dreams were helped me not just to visualize my best recovered self, but to also sustain me throughout the journey in of itself. In coaching, we can take time to evaluate and rebuild your inner soul-fired, healthy self, not just for recovery, but for the life you were truly made for.
