Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching vs. Therapy: What's the Difference?

Recovery Coaching is a wonderful complement to the professional treatment you receive from a licensed therapist or dietician while in eating disorder recovery. Coaching provides real-time, hands-on support and encouragement - with a more accessible availability to you in your everyday life as challenges arise.

Working with a Recovery Coach

Focus: “What’s next and how do we get there?”

Collaborative and peer-based support

Focused on present and future goals

You set goals—with guidance and accountability from your coach

Action-oriented: practical tools, daily support, real-life skills

Helps shift self-talk and build self-esteem through behavior change

Does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions

Support available between sessions

Sees you as a whole person—on a growth journey, not a diagnosis

Working with a Therapist

Focus: “What happened and why?”

Clinically trained to treat mental health conditions

Therapist guides treatment planning and clinical goals

Focus is on healing the past and understanding emotional patterns

Explores roots of behaviors and mental health symptoms

Can diagnose and provide mental health treatment

Limited contact between sessions, unless in crisis

Works within a medical model of care

Who do you work with?

I currently work with women 18 and older, all across the world and navigating a variety of eating disorders!
I also see clients in-person who are local to me in the Southern Illinois region. I am more than happy to meet with you in-person for any type of session. This can provide opportunities to work on specific goals and challenges that might appear at a social event, restaurant, or other real-life scenarios.

Please note that additional mileage rates do apply for in-person sessions, and total price will be provided prior to arrangements and scheduling.

What is your rate and do you take insurance?

At this time, coaching is not a billable, medical practice and therefore not covered by insurances.
My current rate is $120 per hour, which provides reasonable text support outside of sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand life happens, and there will be times you have to cancel or re-schedule your appointments. In order to sustain my practice and best serve all of my clients, I do ask that you please respect my scheduling policies:

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.

  • Cancellations or reschedules made with 24+ hours' notice: No charge. You can reschedule your session at no additional cost.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice or no-shows: The full session fee will be charged.

Exceptions may be made for true emergencies on a case-by-case basis—just reach out.
